Fylde Rugby Community Foundation is helping to deliver free school meals during lockdown.
Working closely with Westminster Primary Academy School in Blackpool, the Foundation – a partner of Community Group, which specialises in the formation and operation of community departments for rugby clubs of all levels – is delivering food parcels to children in need.
Head of Community Coaching, Phill Mills, Community Rugby Coach, Laura Perrin and Fylde RFC General Manager, Nigel Wild have been collecting food parcels from the school on Monday mornings.
The meals are delivered to families in the community, with the initiative set to continue throughout lockdown to ensure children who are learning from home receive the adequate nutrition they require.
Fylde Rugby Community Foundation’s Head of Community Coaching, Phill Mills said: “It’s great to see how everyone can rally together in this time of need. It’s beneficial to look outside our normal scope of work to be able to deliver nutritious meals in these unprecedented times.”
The Foundation is offering its services to other primary schools in the Wyre & Fylde area to assist schools in delivering food parcels. If you are a school and would like help, please email email@example.com.
