Community Group are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as Rugby Development Manager at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation.

Reporting directly to the Head of Community Coaching, this role is responsible for leading and managing Rugby and Multi-Sport camps across the Fylde, Blackpool and Wyre area.

Job Type: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £24,000

Mobile phone and laptop: Provided

Vehicle: Use of own vehicle

Expenses: 22p per mile + courses at MD discretion

Pension Scheme: N.E.S.T

Notice & Probation: This post is subject to an 8-week notice & probation period.

Annual leave: The annual leave entitlement is 21 days per year pro rata, plus bank holidays. In addition, the office is closed between Christmas and the New Year. It is advised that holiday should be taken out of the rugby season and the school academic year.

Partnering with 8 rugby union clubs throughout the UK, we are looking for an individual to join the team to support the growth of provision at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation.

Job profile

Reporting directly to the Head of Community Coaching at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, this role is responsible for leading and managing Rugby and Multi-Sport camps across the Fylde, Blackpool and Wyre area.

Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:

a)       Organise, promote and deliver community coaching camps during school holidays both Rugby and Multi Sport.

b)       Develop and deliver community coaching through sponsorship programmes

c)       Manage all aspects of camp delivery including deployment of community rugby coaches

d)       Organise and deliver pre-match engagement including RugRatz sessions and school engagement days

e)       Develop relationships with local clubs to support the transition of new players.

f)        Organise, promote and support the delivery of a CPD programme for coaches, teachers and volunteers. Promote the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation programmes across the Fylde, Blackpool and Wyre areas through ‘Rugby For All’.

g)       Attend local, regional and national programme development meetings.

h)       Develop partnerships with local and regional organisations.

i)         Support the Head of Community Coaching in preparing and submitting reports & bid overviews.

Essential experience:

a)       England Rugby Coaching Award RFU Level 2 or equivalent

b)       Strategic planning and forecasting for all camps throughout the school year and full calendar year

c)       Experience of coaching rugby to a wide variety of backgrounds, ages and ability levels.

d)       Enthusiasm and passion for developing rugby and individuals

e)       Partnership working with local authorities, public health, communities or other local stakeholders

f)        Ability to work as part of a team and meet organisational demands

g)       Ability to work to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends

Knowledge of:

a)       Local area for rugby initiatives

b)       Effective approaches to sports development, Rugby Union in particular.

c)       Principles of effective marketing and communication to support business development.

d)       Sports provision within both state and independent school sectors.

e)       COVID-19 regulations for sports provision for the community.

f)        Approaches to safeguarding children, young people and adults.

Desired skills:

a)       Excellent written and spoken communications to a variety of audiences, including academics, senior leadership team representatives of schools, local authority and commercial representatives

b)       Ability to keep to tight deadlines and to work effectively under pressure

c)       Business acumen

d)       Microsoft Office applications
