HUGE SUCCESS FOR LATEST MODERATE LEARNING DISABILITY (MLD) FESTIVAL

On Wednesday 16th May, The Fylde Rugby Foundation held our annual MLD Schools Tag Rugby Festival at Fylde RFC.

The day was a great success with 9 schools (10 teams) from around Lancashire:

  • Tor View
  • Park School
  • Pendle
  • Broadfield
  • Applebee Wood
  • West Lancashire
  • Mayfield
  • Morecambe Road
  • Great Arley

Over the last few months our Fylde Rugby Community Foundation coaches have been busy delivering sessions across special educational needs schools across the Fylde Coast getting them ready for the school’s tournament of the year.

As you can see everyone had an absolute blast and The Fylde Rugby Foundation thanks everyone who attended, near and far!

It was clear to see that all the sessions coaches had been delivering in schools had been a success as every single pupil on the pitch played a fantastic game of tag rugby throughout the day.

Huge congratulations to the festival winners: TOR VIEW SCHOOL!

With thanks to sponsors Wooden Spoon Lancashire West Coast, who’s support is vital for allowing us to arrange programmes and tournaments like this. Martin Long from Wooden Spoon Says:

“It was an absolute pleasure for Wooden Spoon to Sponsor this festival and to see over 100 children having a fantastic time. We are looking forward to more accessible tournaments like this in the future. Thank you Fylde Rugby Community Foundation for all your hard work and organisation of this.”
