The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation sends huge congratulations to our Foundation Director, Phill Mills

The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation wants to send a huge congratulations to Foundation Director, Phill Mills, on completing the London Marathon on Sunday!

The 45th edition of the London Marathon, held on Sunday 27th April 2025, was a landmark event in the world of distance running. With 56,640 crossing the finish line, it set a new world record for the number of finishers, surpassing the previous record held by the New York City Marathon in 2024.

The marathon’s scenic route took runners from Greenwich Park, along the River Thames, and concluded at The Mall, offering a picturesque backdrop for this monumental event .

Despite unseasonably warm temperatures peaking at around 22°C, runners showcased remarkable endurance and determination.

Phill’s time record was an incredible 3 hours 46 minutes –  his first marathon too! ✨

Phill Mills says: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who supported me and donated towards my London Marathon 2025 fundraising for Wooden Spoon. Thanks to your generosity, we have so far raised an incredible £2,325!

The race itself was extremely difficult, with blistering heat making the back half of the Marathon a real mental and physical challenge.

Wooden Spoon is a charity that works very close with us and our Foundation, helping to create life-changing opportunities for young people and children with disabilities through sport and vital community provisions.

Your donations are making a real and lasting impact, so again thank you!”

Congratulations again, Phill Mill’s, we couldn’t be prouder of you
