HUGE SUCCESS FOR ANNUAL TOUCH & WALKING RUGBY FESTIVAL HELD AT FYLDE RFC

On Saturday 25th May The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation held the highly anticipated annual Touch Rugby Festival and Walking Rugby Tournament & Social.

Both activites were a huge success and the Foundation are really pleased with how the day turned out. Even the weather was on our side again this year, with sun beaming throughout the day.

The tournament had a great turnout of 12 teams and over 140 players, with a wide range of ages and levels taking part. From ages 14-60 and teams including Fylde RFC players, local school teams and even some Sale Sharks players – It was a great day for some great friendly competition.

Rugby Development Manager and Festival Organiser, Ben Turner says:

“This years event saw our number of teams grow in size, surpassing previous festivals. We aim to make this an annual tradition, with plans to grow and enhance the festival each year. Thank you to all the teams and those supporting the festival for making this event a fantastic day. We look forward to an even bigger and better festival next year.”

Over on the other side of the ground we also held our Annual Walking Rugby Tournament and Social. Where our weekly Walking Rugby attendees got together for another competition before socialising and enjoying a few drinks and food, whilst watching the rest of the Touch games.

The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, sends thanks again, to everyone who attended and helped make this event the success it was. Plans are already underway for next years tournament to make it even BIGGER and even BETTER.

We look forward to seeing everyone in 2025!
