Wareing Buildings of Wrea Green have renewed their sponsorship of the Foundation’s Wheelchair Rugby programme, continuing their support for inclusive sport within the local community.
Wareing Buildings is a specialist family-owned manufacturer of steel-framed buildings, now in its fifth generation of ownership. Established in 1909, the business has built a strong reputation for supplying bespoke industrial and agricultural buildings to clients across the UK and internationally.
Their continued backing will help ensure the Foundation can maintain and develop its Wheelchair Rugby sessions, providing opportunities for people of different abilities to take part in sport in a supportive and welcoming environment.
Wareing Buildings of Wrea Green, say: “As a long-standing family business rooted in the local community, Wareing Buildings are proud to continue supporting the Foundation’s Wheelchair Rugby programme. Inclusive sport plays an important role in bringing people together, building confidence and improving wellbeing, and it is fantastic to see the positive impact these sessions have on participants. We are delighted to renew our sponsorship and help ensure this valuable programme can continue to grow and make a difference.”
The Wheelchair Rugby programme focuses on making sport accessible while supporting participants to stay active, develop new skills and connect with others.
Sessions provide a consistent and inclusive space where players can build confidence, improve coordination and form friendships through sport. For many participants, the programme also plays an important role in supporting wellbeing and reducing social isolation.

Ben Turner, Wheelchair Rugby Programme Lead at the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, said:
“Wheelchair Rugby has a huge impact on our participants, both physically and mentally. We’ve seen people grow in confidence, develop new skills and build friendships in a really supportive environment. Programmes like this wouldn’t be possible without the backing of sponsors such as Wareings Buildings, whose support allows us to continue delivering inclusive sessions for the community.
We would like to thank Wareing Buildings, Wrea Green, for their continued support of the Wheelchair Rugby programme and their commitment to helping inclusive sport remain available within the community.”
Community programmes like Wheelchair Rugby rely on the support of local businesses to remain accessible and sustainable. Sponsorship helps cover essential costs such as equipment, facilities and coaching, ensuring the sessions can continue to run for those who benefit from them.
