Walterz Entertainment Centre, at Newton Hall in Staining has partnered with The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation to sponsor and support Kids Rugby and Multi-Sports Camps at Fleetwood Rugby Club. Helping to provide more opportunities for children and families across Wyre.
Through this partnership, the Foundation will be able to support eight children per camp, to attend our Rugby and Multi-Sports Camps during three key school holiday periods across the year.
These children are referred to us by local schools, social workers, and family support services, ensuring that those who need it most are given the opportunity to enjoy safe, enriching, and active school holiday experiences that would otherwise be out of reach due to financial or social barriers.
Each child selected for the programme will benefit from:
• A fully funded place at three school holiday multi-sports camps, each running for four days
• Daily hot meals, ensuring no child goes hungry while attending
• Transport to and from camp, removing a key access barrier for many families
• A fun, inclusive programme of sports and activities, designed to encourage teamwork, participation, and confidence
• Prizes, medals, and trophies, to celebrate engagement and achievement
For many children, the school holidays can be a time of isolation, inactivity, and food insecurity. This project provides much more than just a place at camp. It offers structure, belonging, and opportunity.
The initiative aims to:
• Provide structure, routine, and positive social interaction during school holidays
• Tackle physical inactivity and encourage healthy lifestyle habits
• Build confidence, friendships, and resilience through teamwork and sport
• Offer a long-term pathway into rugby and community sport, helping children stay engaged beyond the school holidays
All sessions are delivered by fully qualified community sports coaches ensuring a high-quality, safe, and nurturing environment for every participant.
