The Fylde Rugby Community Foundation is delighted to announce continued support from the Wooden Spoon Charity for the Foundation’s SEND Tag Rugby Programme.
This ongoing partnership highlights a shared commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of ability, can experience the enjoyment, teamwork, and confidence-building that rugby provides.
The SEND Tag Rugby Programme plays a vital role in the Foundation’s wider mission to make rugby accessible for all. Through tailored coaching and adapted sessions, pupils at SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools are given the opportunity to develop new skills, improve physical wellbeing, and build lasting friendships through sport.
Ben Turner, Programme Lead at Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, said:
“We’re extremely grateful to the Wooden Spoon Charity for their continued support. Their backing over the past three years has allowed us to grow the programme and reach more young people, giving every participant the chance to experience the positive impact rugby can have both on and off the pitch.”
The Wooden Spoon Charity, known as the children’s charity of rugby, funds projects that use the power of rugby to transform the lives of children and young people with disabilities or facing disadvantage.
This renewed funding ensures the Fylde Rugby Community Foundation can continue to grow its impact, providing meaningful sporting opportunities where they are needed most.
🙏 A huge thank you to Wooden Spoon for their ongoing belief in our work and for helping us make rugby truly inclusive for all.
