Daisy Meadow Stables Announced as Programme Sponsor of Carr Hill Mentoring & Rugby Programme

Fylde Rugby Community Foundation is delighted to welcome Daisy Meadow Stables as the new programme sponsor of its Mentoring & Rugby Programme at Carr Hill High School.

The partnership continues the long-standing support of the Hough family, who have been involved with the Foundation for many years. The Foundation is incredibly grateful for their continued commitment, now being extended through Daisy Meadow Stables to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of local young people.

The Carr Hill Mentoring & Rugby Programme addresses some of the challenges faced by secondary school pupils in Blackpool and the surrounding area. It offers tailored mentorship and support to young people who may be at risk of exclusion or have been identified as needing additional guidance due to anti-social behaviour or other challenges.

By combining mentoring, workshops and physical activity, the programme uses rugby as a powerful tool to engage pupils in a positive and supportive environment.

Its core focus is built around rugby’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. These principles are used to help participants develop essential life skills, improve their confidence and communication, build positive relationships and make better-informed choices.

Feedback from participating schools has highlighted the significant impact the programme has already had:

“The programme has had a hugely positive impact on our students this year. It has provided a valuable outlet for young people, giving them the opportunity to engage in physical activity while developing important social and emotional skills.”

“Through regular participation, students have improved their communication and teamwork, learning how to work collaboratively, listen to others and express their ideas effectively.”

“The programme has also played a key role in helping new students build connections and form friendships, creating a strong sense of belonging and community. In a less formal environment, students have felt more comfortable expressing themselves, developing confidence and positive relationships with both their peers and staff.”

Phill Mills, Director of Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, said:

“We are extremely grateful to the Hough family and Daisy Meadow Stables for supporting the Carr Hill Mentoring & Rugby Programme.

The Hough family have been involved with the Foundation for many years and it means a great deal to have their ongoing support through Daisy Meadow Stables.

This programme gives young people a safe and positive environment in which they can develop confidence, build stronger relationships and learn skills that will support them both inside and outside school. The backing of programme sponsors allows us to continue delivering this vital work and creating opportunities for the young people who need them most.”

The support of Daisy Meadow Stables will help Fylde Rugby Community Foundation continue delivering the programme at Carr Hill, providing consistent mentorship and positive intervention for pupils who can benefit most.
